looking at the stats of the ppl waitlisted around here (mine included, look at my pr stats), i must say that wash u only waitlisted us b/c they didn't think we would attend (they were right :p). so let's all be happy instead of mad/shocked/sad and know that wash u thought we were too good for them!

on a slightly worse note, now i dont have the chance to negotiate for financial aid with wash u. :( i'm going to be paying loans for the rest of my life.

you guys are jerks. Let the people that got in be happy instead of trying to degrade them down to "non-ivy league" material? It you got waitlisted, oh well, you didn't wanna go there in the first place so you shouldnt even care. Why would you waste your time to make a thread like this?

i dunno...it just seems unfair to make such rationalizations

and curtisny, although wustl isn't my first choice, i'm glad i got in and u didnt...maybe if you increased your SAT score and won some national awards you might have gotten in =)

1450 puts me in the top 1% of Puerto Rican applicants Shostakovich...I also got a likely letter from Dartmouth AND wrote a hit play...how about you?

My point was that you should stop putting others down. If you didn't care about Washington University in the first place then why do you care that you're waitlisted? Furthermore, are you going to show some respect to the kids who actually got into their top choice school? Show a little respect. No point in putting other people, especially people who are overjoyed at having been accepted.

Furthermore, aren't we a little big-headed here? College acceptances shouldn't be taken for granted, and for you to assume that Washington University accepted you is a complete mistake. Even so, you don't know they waitlisted you because you were overqualified; you really can't be overqualified for any top 15 school.

With that said, no need to reply. Good luck at Dartmouth.

my application was good enough for the ivies, but its people like this, overly competitive people that feel the need to throw their (probably hard earned and deserved) success in other's faces, that made me want to leave New England.
