@DolphinnsFan , Yup, I guess the IT dept. didn’t discuss the 9,000 emails/ portal updates planned to go out, so once they put the system back up, it should start flowing out, if they aren’t stuck somewhere

Nothing to do with CSULB (though it’s my alma mater), but waitlists can remain open and active right until a school year starts. Ideally colleges would probably love to close Waitlists as soon as possible, but there can be so many factors affecting waitlist movement. Summer melt is probably just starting to get into high gear, as colleges pull kids off of waitlists. It all trickles down.
Stories abound of students receiving late wailtist offers. My own child got off a waitlist offer via email on one of the last days of June, and now attends that school. That doesn’t mean that anyone should live in hope of that happening. Carry on as though it won’t. Some colleges will send notices that the waitlist is closed, in which case it definitely is, but if you don’t hear from a college, there’s a chsnce they are still using the waitlist.
@DolphinnsFan If you get /check your latest status via the portal, it still says the following (just did it)
“We have received your acceptance of our waitlist. You can expect to hear a final admission decision by mid-May. Please remember that admission is not guaranteed so please continue to pursue a backup plan”
As your aware, LB actually sent previous email updates exactly as defined in status (to the date), and my daughters friends also on the wait-list have never received an update, which in the past LB would adjust the “mid May” language to accommodate changes prior to the date passing, but to suck every ounce out of every potential placement, this approach would do the trick. Meaning, leave everyone hanging to fill all possible seats!
@Calstates Exactly. We did check the latest status via the portal (on Monday) and it says the same as your daughter’s status.
Just checked through portal and was denied.

I was rejected as well, same major.
My daughter’s major is marine bio. Time to go check the portal.

My daughter is going to attend Cal State Fullerton , as the stress is to much. She is still on the wait-list and Ive only seen wait-list rejections for Bio so far (on this site). My daughter’s Major is Liberal studies (Teaching degree), so I know they are still waiting on that Major
Keep us updated @Calstates ! It’s a relief to make a decision and no longer rely on the wait list.

Sent and email and had this response on June 8th. “Thank you for your email. As of now, no action has been rendered for the waitlist opportunity, however, you will be receiving a decision shortly via email. I do not have an exact date for you, but please know that a decision will be rendered as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.”
CSULB was the only school my daughter wanted to go to. She was excepted at SDSU and every other school she applied.
Hi @Nkwsdad. My daughter is still on the waitlist too. It is ridiculous that is gone on for so long. When I called a month ago they told me they had 9000 kids on the waitlist. She has committed to CSUN and is excited to go there. Good luck!
My daughter is going to orientation today @ Cal State Fullerton, but she is still waitlisted @ LB as well ( its been Crickets) and Im only leaving this note so other future parents can expect /plan the same scenario
