Waitlist confirmation?

Has anyone who chose to pursue admission from the waitlist received any sort of confirmation from Northwestern?

Just got my G'town confirmation today.

…or has anyone who chose to pursue admission from the waitlist NOT received a confirmation email?

You know, something along the lines of:

Dear _____,

We are pleased to learn of your decision to remain on the waitlist. We will notify you by ______.

When I pursued the wait list (of which I eventually got off and am now at NU), I do not recall receiving an email, but my memory could be fuzzy.

I would relax; I’m on the waitlist for 5 schools (Georgetown, WashU. Boston College, Columbia, and Northwestern) and only today received my first confirmation from Georgetown via email. Most schools won’t even begin reviewing waitlistees until after May 1, so maybe they are slow at sending confirmation emails if they do that at all…most probably don’t though, and only contact you if they want to admit you.

Has anybody else spoken to a GC who was told Northwestern might not take off the waitlist this year?

I haven’t talked to that GC but I honestly expect them to take off some of waitlistees. In my school only, six students got accepted, but only one of them is going. (Some of them got into better schools, and some of them just cannot afford it.) There must be some available spots especially since economy is so bad.

NW emailed me saying that they still do not know if they will be taking off the waitlist this year and may not know until mid June.

Oh God I hope that’s not the case. I want this more than anything.

In the meantime, where is everyone who’s waiting enrolled? I’m at UVa.

That is really bothering because many schools have already started contacting waitlistees. I would like to know the reason why it might take until mid-June because counting up sirs shouldn’t take a month. frustrating.

I got in today!! I got a call from my local admissions director asking if I was still interested in Northwestern and if so, they would like to offer me a spot!! I couldn’t believe it, good luck everyone!!!

congrats! I bet this process has not been fun being waitlisted. I hope you all find the right spot for you and get to go where it fits best.

Did they call cell phones?

Starting to lose hope. Already getting info to apply as a transfer next year.

I’m not giving up.

[Northwestern Freshman Class Has Record SAT Scores, Class Ranking](http://www.northwestern.edu/newscenter/stories/2009/05/froshadmissions.html)

2,182 frosh have sent in deposits, and NU’s target size is 2,025… so not many waitlists then, I’m guessing.

Looks like they over-admitted and over-enrolled.

Awww, I’m happy NU is getting more diverse. =]

I give up.

There’s only one person on cc so far who has heard. :-/
There should be a few pulled off before people start giving up.
Do not give up! We’ll pull through!

humdum isn’t that article from 2009 though??

^ That’s because this thread was made in 2009 ;)
