Current students- what kind of experiences have you had with registration? Have you had trouble enrolling in the classes you want to take?

Personally, not at all so far, though it probably depends on what you want to study.

Every term you get assigned a registration priority number within your class, and you register in order of class. Everybody’s three priority numbers for the year (one for each term) add up to the same number, so you usually get one terrible number, one decent number, and one great number.

In my experience, it really varies from term to term depending upon what you want to take and how flexible you are. I’ve had a pretty easy time of it, except for last term when all of the sophomore English majors came back from the London program and wanted the same required class and this term when my number was really bad and I really needed to get into two popular classes.

umm…so when is the cut-off date for admitting waitlisted applicants?

The only course my daughter had to wait a few terms to get into was Statistics - a required course for several majors. That one would definitely have been worth getting AP credit.

I think we can give up now.

I gave up, finally!

I got a letter from Carleton today that they don’t have rooms for the class of 2015…I’m rejected! I guess that means the wait list is closed. Well I expected it so it wasn’t that much of a surprise.

I believe the video refers to a whole different kind of waitlist…trying to get into a class, not the college itself.
