Waitlist Discussion Thread

Anyone hear anything yet?

Just a word of advice - try not to hold your breath. I was waitlisted last year and didn’t hear back until the second to last week of June (rejected). Thinking back, I don’t think anyone on CC got in from the wait list. I don’t say this to discourage you, but just to give an idea of my experience. I wish you the best of luck! Even if you don’t get in, you’ll get over Midd in time (or at least I did).

just got the call from midd. accepted!! so probably not going to northwestern anymore

Congratulations! Best of luck to you!

ok… that’s the fourth person I know who turned down Northwestern for Midd. Woot for Midd and congrats to you!!

Wow, 201! Congrats! If you don’t mind me asking, did you do anything? Send updates, call, etc?

sure. I placed a call to my admissions officer about 2 weeks ago, just to ask about the process and to see if I could learn anything about their waitlist that I didn’t know before (I didn’t gain much from it). Then I sent a letter to admissions this Friday via email. About an hour later I got a call from admissions. I was thrilled (and surprised) to say the least

I’m a transfer student and just got wait listed :(

I got the call this afternoon!

Congrats! Did you send any additional information to Middlebury?

Thank you! I sent an email to the Dean of Admissions that basically said that Midd was my first choice, I would matriculate if accepted, etc. I also attached a link to an interview that I did for the organization for which I intern. I also explained a few minor changes in my resume. I then forwarded that email to my area rep, mentioning when I met her last year and letting her know of my intention. I hope this helps :)

Thank you! It does help.

Hello! I had a question about middlebury’s waitlist. It originally said online that the preference for the waitlist had to be entered by May 7th, so I entered it a few days after May 1st and sent in my update email a day or two ago. Was I wrong about the deadline and/or will this negatively affect my chances?

I thought that preferences had to be stated by May 1, but the Midd website now says May 22. [Waiting List FAQ | Middlebury](<a href=“Application Instructions and Deadlines | Middlebury College”>Application Instructions and Deadlines | Middlebury College)
I suppose that means that you are okay!

Yeah haha that’s why I was confused because my original later didn’t have a deadline on it, and when I checked online before May 1st it said May 7th, so I went with that date. And then today it changed to the 22nd…so I guess their waitlist is continually open haha. Thank you!

What email did you guys send the update to?

@strawberrieee: I sent it by mail to the admissions office, but I sent an email to one of the assistant deans. They got back to me immediately promising to add it to my file.

I sent the letter by email to the Dean of Admissions and my area rep.

I got in off the wait list yesterday, but I will not be attending, so there are more spots available!

does anyone have an update as to whether or not they are still admitting?
