Waitlist Email

Hey did anyone get this email below?

They also attached a form and stuff to fill out (like how to pay the desposit through visa/mastercard). Could this mean I am accepted? Or just wishful thinking?

Thanks

Dear [name],

We have received your reply form to participate in our Priority Waiting List Option. In order to ensure that your college planning stays on schedule, a member of our Admission staff will phone or email you on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, to notify you of our admission decision. If you will not be at home during this time, please leave a phone number or an email address where you can be reached. Students with international addresses should provide an email address since we will not make calls outside the United States. If you have requested to be considered for admission to any of the other colleges at Carnegie Mellon, we will also discuss these options with you at that time. If you are admitted from the priority waiting list, an $800 enrollment deposit will be due immediately and will be credited to your student account. This enrollment deposit will be nonrefundable, must be post marked by May 6, 2010 and must be received in our office within 5 working days from the May 5 notification date. We can accept enrollment deposits by Mastercard and Visa. A Fall 2010 Priority Wait List/Enrollment Reply Form and a Mastercard/Visa Payment Form are enclosed for your use should you be admitted on May 5. Please do not complete or return these prior to May 5. Any payment received prior to May 5 will be returned. At this time, your reply form only signals your intention to participate in the priority waiting list option. Although each year students are admitted from the waiting list, at this point, it is very important to secure a place at another college or university. We will be happy to discuss your options with you in more detail when we call on May 5. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact us at (412) 268-2082.

No i didn’t get such email.
I am waitlisted too and I got a snail mail saying about Waitlisted thing(esp. about Priority WL and normal WL stuffs I remember).
I Think you may have to wait for the snail mail**?**

I believe the email makes it patently clear that you are not accepted yet and that the payment form is enclosed just in case you are admitted on May 5.

Yeah, I got that email. Priority waitlist for H&SS. I think everyone gets it though.

I see… Thanks for the clarification guys

got the same email…priority WL for H&SS also

I got the email too; Priority WL for SCS

I was wondering though, were we suppose to send in a final transcript (or as up to date as possible) with our waitlist reply?

Did not get this email…priority WL - Int’l.

Don’t miss the phone call!!! You can have your local phone company ring any home phone # over to your cell for the day - that is if you listed a land line on your common ap as the contact number.

They are going to cruise through that list and fill empty spots at that time…

Those who don’t reply by May 6, it will be assumed you moved on and they will start on the second round of waitlisted students.

The priority students get the priority treatment. May 5 looks like the day this year!

Best of luck…some people will get off the list-- !

We live abroad - they might call us too?

if we miss that phone call (whole family will be out that day)…will we lose our spot on the waitlist?

or will they just email us

Did any international students get this email?

Ps. I am international
