Waitlist for BIO 311C?

Hi everyone! I currently have a very bad professor for my BIO 311C class. Does anyone know when the waitlist for BIO 311C class opens up for the fall of 2013?

Unless they changed it up, if you had your bars removed at orientation, you should have been able to register on the day that registration opened up during every freshmen orientation after yours. If you had a bad registration during your orientation, it was a good trick to get a jump on freshmen attending later orientations as they usually did not know how to navigate registration. I do not know if this trick worked during transfer/late orientations. The add/drop period begins on August 26, but if you check your RIS page, it usually tells you specific days in which you can register and within specific time slots. My personal registration is open from June 13th to July 19th from 8am to midnight, but that may be due to my senior status. Any time you plan on registering for a class, I suggest you be ready to copy/paste the unique number for the class as they can go VERY quickly.

They usually reserve seats for every orientation, but since they are over, the add/drop period is usually a savage free-for-all for the remaining spots. good luck!

Haha ^ I tried that before I made the thread yesterday. It did work for me; however, all the biology classes that opened up had conflicting times with my physics class :frowning: Just have to wait for people to drop… Thanks for your response!

Does anyone know if or when BIO 311C will open up? I was able to register because of my transfer orientation today, but everything was closed. Not even an option to wait list. 000002, when you mention orientation, are you talking only of freshmen orientation?

Spots will always open up during add/drop period beginning on August 26. People switch out or people get dropped due to not paying their tuition on time, but the amount of seats that open is usually very limited. The classes being closed without an option to waitlist may indicate that there are seats still being reserved for later orientations, and that the classes aren’t actually full yet. That was the case during my freshmen orientation, but since all the normal sessions for freshmen orientation are finished, a closed class may indicate that the waitlist was opened up and was completely filled. I have no idea if they reserve seats for transfer orientations.

And yes, I was referring to freshmen orientation in my first post. Just check back occasionally to see if the classes or their waitlists have opened up, and be ready to add the class on the dates listed on your RIS page.

Also, If the class says “restricted”, it means that only certain majors can register for that class, but SOMETIMES after a certain percent of the class is filled up, they open a few seats to non majors. I have gotten into a class like this and the status literally went from “restricted”, to “open”, to “closed” in 2 seconds. Some classes do not offer a waitlist so you need to have fast fingers when your registration time comes.

Gotcha, thanks for replying! :)
