Waitlist for Choate!

Everyone come post and keep our hopes up!

C’mon guys, you can do it!

From the reactions I’ve seen from people who were accepted to more than just Choate, a lot of people will be choosing Exeter or Andover or (insert school name) instead of CRH. So waitlist spots may be opening soon!

GOOD LUCK!!

Hey - I was WLed at Choate and got in (this was two years ago, so I’m a soph. now). Feel free to PM me, though I need to respond to other messages so my inbox might be full. Post here if it is!

And any WL decisions will come after the April 11th date, but the school will most likely send you an update then as to how the WL will move (I remember they did that).

Remember, Choate will over accept. Good luck, I also got WL at choate but I will likely chose Andover, HK, Milton, or Exeter since I do not want to wait on the list…

BTW Saer, I hope to see you at a Choate-XXX volleyball game.

im on the WL for choateee

as a sophomore though

Yeah I PMed you but please PM me tell me your story and what you did…I REALLY want your input Thanks

my son is w-listed here as well.

AHHH I got waitlisted to Choate as well!
But I guess Saer is right, people who get offered multiple acceptances to schools such as HADES will choose HADES over Choate!
There still IS a chance!
Im keeping my fingers crossed!

HAHA YAY! I just (literally, 2 seconds ago) sent in my notification to Choate that YES, I will be attending!
I’m so happy. So happy. I… I am yay! I hope you all get in off the waitlist!

I am on the waitlist as a sophmore too.

waitlist for 9th grade…

I’m waitlist for 9th grade! But I’m still telling myself I’m going there! I desperately want to be in the Arts Concentration program for Vocals or Theatre.

Lisa007 – just wanted to clarify that Choate is in the “HADES” grouping of schools – see my recent post about the history of “HADES” on another thread:

“Me thinks there is a bit of selective revisionism going on. “Hades” has not been evolving for years, nor was it formulated by educators or boarding school review, nor is it universally accepted by the BS community. The term “HADES” was first proposed by a student in a thread only last August, entitled “HEAD GCMS”, in a discussion among a VERY FEW students who were looking for an acronym that would describe what they students felt were the “ivy league” of the prep schools, and included Hotchkiss, Exeter, Andover, Deerfield, Groton, Choate, Milton and St. Pauls. At first, their acronym was HEAD GCM:
The Prep School Ivy League - HEAD GMCS.”

Indeed, many DO choose Choate over Hotchkiss, Andover, Exeter, Deerfield and St. Pauls; the applicant pool is the same (just look at the acceptance/rejections, and you’ll see where some are accpeted by Hotchkiss and Exeter, rejected by Choate, etc.) In fact, Choate’s applicant pool was up this year, and I know that last year, it was the strongest class yet (we were told that over 150 4.0 students were rejected last year).

I wish all of you who are on the waitlist best of luck — we have been thrilled with the school.

i’m on the waitlist, but since i got accepted to some other schools, i’m going to take myself off of the waitlist.

When did you learn you got in?

Thank you xoxohersheykiss, maybe it will give my daughter a chance… Congrats!

i have spoken to many friends today who applied to choate, got in, but also got into schools like exeter, andover, sps and groton and will be taking those spots over choate. good luck!!

Reviving this thread for all the people WLed at Choate this year.
Here’s to hoping we’ll all make it off the list! :)

Also, I’m curious - how many of you needed significant FA? I’m wondering if the WL is mostly a WL for FA.

ahhhh! i got waitlisted too :frowning:
i told my friend who goes to choate and she said that she knows lots of ppl who got waitlisted but got in

I need financial aid but I heard someone got rejected because of financial aid.
