I have been hearing that the waitlist for CIT at CMU has almost no movement. Is this true and should I forget about going to CMU? I was priority waitlsted and am not sure if that also makes a difference. In particular, I would like to attend biomedical engineering at CIT.

Biomedical engineering isn’t a stand-alone major. Also it would increase your chances if you put that you would not like to be considered for ECE.

Aliright thanks!. I guess chemical engineering then. Do you know what the chances are though and if they do take priority waitlist students to CIT?

^Waitlist chances vary from year to year, and while CIT generally has a lower acceptance rate than some of the other colleges at CMU, its still worth a shot. Remember to send CMU another essay or any other details about you that’ll help you stand out. Of course, that being said, pay your deposit at another school too.

Alright, Thanks I will definitely do that. Would it be reasonable to assume that at least some priority waitlist students for CIT actually get in? As Selena731 pointed out with BME it is a dual major so if I can get in for any CIT engineering major that is fine.
