Waitlist for Class of 2016

Yeah, I definitely don’t want to wait that long. And they let you know your financial aid package at the same time, assuming they accept you?

Yeah it’s very disappointing. I thought coming from a jesuit school, being latino, having good grades, and great extra cirriculars would get me in, but I guess not. I’ve gotten in to LMU, Gonzaga, and Loyola Chicago so I do have some good landing spots. I am still waiting on Notre Dame and Georgetown but I’m losing hope after a decision like this since it seems to me it is a lot harder to get into Georgetown and ND but o well I guess you never know. O by the way I’m having trouble with the online form too. It will not let me submit.

A couple of years ago one of my son’s HS classmates was accepted to Harvard but waitlisted at Brown. He wanted to go to Brown and talked to them. They agreed that he could be admitted without reapplying after taking a gap year, which he did. I don’t know how frequently something like that happens, but it’s probably worth knowing if you get waitlisted by your “dream school.”

I was waitlisted as well. FOR ALL WITH THE FORM SUBMISSION ISSUE, DO NOT USE GOOGLE CHROME, USE INTERNET EXPLORER OR FIREFOX. Just called the school and asked them the same question :p. Btw is there anything we can do as waitlisters to influence our chances of admission at BC?? Let me know.

If you have a Mac, there are special instructions for how to fill out the form. I couldn’t enter the country I’m from, and when I went back and read all the directions I figured out why.

Thanks dsgraf. You rock.

Waitlisted as a Latino applicant–35 ACT, Nat’l Hispanic Scholar, NMSF, really good EC’s and essays, and… oh, right, 3.1 unweighted (ADHD/LD). Well, not like I could afford it anyways.

waitlisted.

hello boston syndrome! (where they know their yield rate will only drop if they accept me)

<3 sowwy Adam

I also got waitlisted…and i hope I still have a chance at getting into Tufts…

Alli1993, we’re in the same boat.

I have a question - when I submitted my wait list response form to say Yes, I want to be added to the wait list, I received a confirmation email from BC saying they had received my form. But on my Agora portal under the Applicant Status’ documents list, the wait list response form isn’t listed as one of the received documents… does this mean they don’t have my response? Does anyone else have it listed under their Agora portal?

@patriotsgirl12

My list doesn’t even include an option for waitlist…

has anyone heard yet?

no ): I’ve been checking so much. I just wish the results would come out so I can go ahead and make my decision to know where I’m going.

^^ Agreed. I would love to go to BC no doubt, but even more so just know where I am going for sure. Does anyone know when we’re supposed to find out? I know admissions says everyone will know by June 30th or something like that (not really sure of the official date), but does anyone know when people typically started to hear back in past years? And how much do you think legacy plays a role in students getting admitted off the wait list?

@lizziefoley

On the class of 2015 thread, people starting hearing on the 9th.
On the class of 2014 thread, people started hearing a bit later around 12th~ up until June.

I just hope to hear ASAP, the wait is killing me!

I’m really surprised they haven’t called anyone yet… but it should be any day now, don’t you think? Even if its bad news, I just want to know for sure where I’m heading next year.

Does any one know if having a sibling going to BC helps my chances? I have heard that it does not help, but i also heard that it does. I’m not sure what to think. BC is my #1 choice and im just trying to see if I have any sort of advantage in that regard. Anyway good luck to everyone. I hope for all of our sake we hear back soon.

anyone know how they contact you? and do they let you know if you don’t get in?
