Waitlist for classes classes

Hi, I was wondering how easy is it to get into a waitlist class. I’m number 24 and I dropped a class that I just added to get the number of units (14- this fall quarter I only took 12) so I dropped it thinking I would be a closer number to add to the class. Do you think my chances are ok? what should I do? my pass is right now so I have till midnight. The other class I believe is still opened should I dropped the wait-listed course and add the other? I do need this wait-listed course…
Thanks

I think it highly depends on the class. Some classes are so impacted that even if you’re in the top 5 spots on the waitlist, you still won’t get in because students need that particular class to graduate (which happened to one of my roommates this quarter). Other classes are easier to get in if you are waitlisted, and it also depends on the professor. For example, my NPB 101 professor this quarter allowed everyone on the waitlist to join the class because even though the class was full, there were still some empty seats left

I know this is a late answer, but unless your class is one of those large seminars or over 150 students in it, I would say no way would you get in being number 24 on the waitlist. But then again, they hadn’t capped the wailtist yet…

You might have a decent chance of still getting in if extra seats are added (this happens all the time).
