Waitlist for Housing - What are my chances

I decided in late April to attend UF and now I'm on the waitlist for fall housing. What are my chances of getting housing? When might I hear? My parents do not want me living in an off-campus apartment as a freshman because I won't have a car and they are worried about my safety. Any suggestions?

There are some off campus housing options that are within walking distance to UF. Check out:

and:

Look at Windsor Hall too. It is a private dorm (furnished) and it is two blocks east of Norman Hall (UF).

Thanks! I'll check out all three.

You have a 5% chance of getting housing if your waitlisted. I just recieved this email a couple of minutes ago....

"...Room and roommate assignments for the coming year will be
available the last week in June for 95% of our incoming freshmen
residents. The other 5% will be assigned space as cancellations
occur between late-June and mid-August."

lol I don't think that means you have a 5% chance if you're waitlisted. It means that 5% of the people who applied for housing are waitlisted and will have to wait longer to get their room assignments.
