<p>for chinese, the waiting list number doesn’t matter. everything should be explained on the first day of class, but basically you’ll have to go in and fill out a card with information about yourself (ie. name, major, year, intended chinese minor/major?, what different chinese time slots you can make), and then the department schedules you into whatever fits. this is because the core time slots for chinese tend to be in most demand (anywhere from 9am to 1pm) and thus they have to have some way of spreading everyone out.</p>
