waitlist... HELP! (i'm making this a thread)

so i posted this somewhere else, but oh well....

ok this might sound really stupid, but do everyone think its wayyyy too late to write a letter/send my transcript to tufts telling them i want to get off the waitlist? basically, i thought i had no chance and that it wasn't worth it but now i am SERIOUSLY second guessing myself. unless its completely ridiculous i want to send that stuff in this week; the lateness will prob negatively affect me anyway... but is it worth a shot? i can send them everything by wed, at the latest, and i can probably call to bug them too... ANY THOUGHTS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

(also, i live in the boston area so they would receive my material very quickly)

last year i think they didnt use the waitlist- send it just in case thou

well... so far i have friends who have gotten into wake forest, GW, bucknell, and pomona off waitlists. i think b/c so many ppl applied to so many schools this year, the waitlist might actually be used. who knows, but yea, i guess theres no harm in sending it all in.

thanks!

Just go for it; do everything you can to convince them that you belong at Tufts and that you really want to go to Tufts. Good luck!

for the thousandth time, waitlist wasn't used last year b/c there were TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THE CLASS OF 09 TO BEGIN WITH. They barely had room for us to live as it is, WHY take in more people?

Worth a shot; send it in, hope it goes well.

This year I think they'll have less of a problem with over-enrollment than they did last year. This is not based on any professional experience or anything...but at Open House this year the weather was really dreary, wet, and cold. I think that bodes well for waitlisters?

hahah. I think it bodes even better than that - think about it. Right now we have barely any room on campus. Everyone has been asked to live in special interest houses. I bet that Tufts will def. UNDER-accept, b/c they can't afford to accept too many people and have them all matriculate. If not enough enroll, they'll add more people to the class from the waitlist until it's full.
