Waitlist.... HELP!!

Hello,

I just got waitlisted here at Stanford. Could someone PLEASE explain what I should do next because I am dying to go to Stanford. Does Stanford waitlist a lot of people? What are my chances of being taken off of the waitlist?

HELP

P.S. Congrats to all those who got in and condolences to all those rejected!

How many of you CC are waitlist?

Does anybody know how many people were waitlisted last year? How many of them were accepted in late May/early June?

How much money do I need to pay Stanford to remain on the waitlist?

Yea uh same here...so what happens? Are they playing with us or do we actually have a chance?

Waitlisted,

I guess I will be choosing between Columbia, Cornell, Penn, and UCB.

Yeah, how many people are waitlisted?

I got waitlisted too.

anybody has the waitlist data from last year? how much deposit do we need to pay to be on the waitlist?

would making a personal visit to the admissions office help my chances? Ugh, and I so wanted to go to Stanford. Do I even really have a chance?

Please..those of you accepted into HYP or similar schools, decline a spot on the waitlist!! Some of us NEED Stanford! :'(

There are several other threads with waitlist data.

13 kids were admitted off of a waitlist of 500-800 last year.

You don't need to pay a deposit.

A personal visit might help, but it might be too aggressive. Admissions officers are busy and might not have time to see you.

Sending them a letter reiterating your interest might be good.

So how do we send a letter to the admissions office? Like how do we title it and everything?

Btw, on the waitlist reply they have a "code" heading right next to the "country" heading. What does this "code" refer to?

i hope ALL YOU WAITLIST KIDS GET IN!!!!!!!!!!!

i was waitlisted at harvard. that was my #1 choice by FAR...
im sad
=[

alright i have a quick question to all you waitlisters. i really dont know how many of you in your college "process" (or as i call it, a h e l l i s h nightmare ;) ) considered financial aid as a facet of attenting a school such as stanford.

if you are lucky enough to get off the list (and i really really hope you all do), will the awarded sid be significantly lower than if you owuld have gotten in as a regular admit? i know stanford does not rank, just like many other great schools, but some schools have said point blank to expect no aid if they are accepted (at the latest) by july 1st. if any of you have had such an experience or even some input, it would be fabulous if you would post

thanks!
