i think that would be ridiculous if they had already finished.

I just hope admissions agrees with that statement!

I think only 4 so far have reported on this thread.

The Princeton facebook group has grown quite a bit since early this week though. I can only assume it is because waitlisted people were taken off. A few of them posted on the wall, but I’m not sure if they are the same people as the ones who use CC.
To the CCers who got off of the wait list: Did you make reference to it on the facebook 2012 group? Just out of curiosity to see if we can account for it.

Uh oh.
How much is “quite a bit” approximately?

No I didnt join the facebook group…

S didn’t either.

Wonderful…
“quite a bit” is like 25ish (I think). And those are just the ones who have a facebook and joined it withing a few days of getting in. haha

Hello all…
I am a senior reporter for the Daily Princetonian (the undergraduate daily newspaper at Princeton), and I’m working on a story about admissions and the waiting list. If any of you who have been accepted (or who are hoping to be accepted) would be willing to do a quick interview via e-mail, I would really appreciate it. Please private message me if you are willing! Congrats to those who have gotten in, and good luck to the rest! Remember, this could be a chance to be one of the first members of Princeton’s class of 2012 to be interviewed for the ‘Prince.’

08seniors08…you’re right. Although I got into Wharton, I’m not really sure if I want to do business or not. I would much rather do Economics at Princeton. Actually, I also got into Oxford for Economics and Management…but I still think that Princeton would provide me the better learning environment.

I hope they r still calling. I would love to get off the Princeton waitlist!!!

Wow me too. I got into Wharton, but I’d rather go to Princeton and study econ. I’m okay with business, but I want a more liberal arts education. Also, West Philly kinda scares me.

The regular yield statistic is a bit misrepresentative for this year since normally that only takes into account regular decision yeild. By this time, Princeton would have had 600 at least definites from Early Decision that it doesn’t have this year. Wouldn’t this fact make the normal yield percentages obsolete?

sup: I LIVE in West Philly and I love it so much I decided to enroll at Penn. It gets SUCH bad media coverage it’s a bit ridiculous.
Penn is in a city, so crime exists. But according to someone who goes to Princeton, one of his/her friends was mugged at gunpoint in the little peaceful town of Princeton, NJ!
Honestly, West Philly is so much fun to be in, and the culture is astoundingly fun.
Not to say Ptown sucks (obviously I’d rather go seeing as how I’m on the wait list) but I hate it when people use West Philly as a reason not to go to penn.

does anyone know what the size of the waitlist currently is?

Well, in past years, the number of applicants who decided to stay on the waitlist was between 700 and 800.
However, the number of people waitlisted this year was around 1500 (as opposed to like 1000 in the past). So I would assume, given the same percentages, maybe 1100 people decided to stay on the waitlist?

So I’m not really an active CCer…(clearly shown by my first post and my name…), but I’m curious now…would it be too late to send in anything to Pton as a waitlistee showing interest? I was just offered a paid internship at my local University and have several mentors requesting to write me rec. letters…really really late. Think it would help in the slightest if it’s not too late…? Thanks.

So you guys are sure Princeton hasn’t finished taking people off the waitlist?

Princeton said they’d be admitting people off of the waitlist up until the end of June. Now, they’ll prolly get nearly all of the 90 before then, but I would think that not all 90 would have been finished within a week.

@Quiet Observer-
I never sent Princeton back any intent to stay on the wait list but they offered me a spot nonetheless, so that card probably has little impact on who they choose. I don’t know how you would go about sending a new rec in or not though
