<p>gbh875, I second that: it was so hard for me to turn down the University of Chicago for Princeton, and I truly thought for months I would go the other way.</p>
<p>I wish your son the best of luck, J’aboube, but I know he won’t be needing it at such an amazing school. I enjoy seeing people mature enough to look past Princeton’s name and a choose a school for other reasons :).</p>

<p>Hey guys! My best friend was waitlisted at princeton (i was rejected, lol) but her older brother currently goes there… will this help her out at all? She hasn’t heard anything from them, and i know they’ve already accepted their first round…</p>
<p>If I haven’t been contacted by Princeton in any way, is it safe to assume that I won’t be taken off the waitlist? Will they eventually send a rejection letter & email, or are they going to give me the silent treatment?</p>

<p>someone posted in the general admission that they got off of the waitlist on friday (also harvard’s on thursday). so it appears that they might be just doing it on a rolling basis now? (i know some of the deadlines were early as tuesday last week, not just late last week).</p>

<p>On Wednesday a Princeton admissions rep told me that they still had not heard back from all of the initial acceptances from the waitlist, which is why it is still active…They anticipate a few more openings when some who accepted their offer then take an offer from another schools’ (Harvard’s?) waitlist. But she was not encouraging. There must be so few openings anticipated at this point. Too bad they won’t do what Harvard is doing, and notify the vast majority of waitlisted candidates of the final decision.</p>
<p>My son received an email to the same effect. The process is not closed. Its a long shot though</p>
