So it is after may first, the deposit deadline, when will we hear if we get in. People who got in off the waitlist last year, do you remember what day you heard?
If we do not get in off the waitlist do they send us a rejection letter or do we just never hear from them again?

I was waitlisted, and accepted the spot on the list, but never sent in any update letters since I’m set on the college I’ll be attending next year.
Just out of curiosity, do I have ANY sort of chance if I expressed no other interest than what’s already in my application/checking yes on the waitlist?

Now I don’t know what it’s like this year, but I know last year admissions used the waitlist very heavily. Most schools (including Penn) start notifying a couple days after they get their deposits (i.e. any time this week), so stay hopeful and try to keep your cool if you get any calls from a 215 area code.

I got in off the waitlist last year, but I was the second round in June, so I can’t say when they took people of for the first round. I’m sure you could find it in a search.

Best of luck!

i called and they said they’d start in about 2 weeks…

I haven’t mailed anything or called either and yet accepted the spot on the waitlist. Do you think its too late now to do so? Whatever, I don’t think I can afford it anyway so, GO GATORS!

May 8 will be the day

im so nervous for u guys…i hope u all get the big fat envelope wit the acceptance letter :P. best of luck guys, and whatever happens, happens.

My S stayed on the waitlist, and is anxious. He called the admissions officer, and she told him that he did not need to do anything else but stay on the list. He doesn’t hold out that much hope, though. If anyone hears anything, please post it ASAP, so everyone knows that the first round of waitlist letters has gone out. Thanks!

Well I turned down Penn, so hopefully that opens a spot for one of you guys. Good luck! :)

I was in the first round of acceptees from last year, I believe. I received notification somewhere close to May 16/17. Just keep the wait on; I def agree that it’s exciting seeing the 215 area code on the caller id =)

So they called you on the phone? Or sent a letter/email?

They called, and then, after 1.5 week I got the package in the mail.

OK, thanks. Just out of curiosity, did they call at home or school?

what if you’re an international? do they call or e-mail you?

does anyone know how long they give you after they tell you that you got in to decide if you want to accept?

do you really need time to accept an offer from Upenn, honestly?

yes, if i got off the waitlist i’d definitely need time to think it over! im so excited to go to the college im currently enrolled at…but penn is penn. hopefully i wont have to make that decision…

I think the standard time is 2 weeks. Though, if finances are important, they might first wait till you receive your financial aid package and give you some time after that.

My S called Penn today, and was told that letters --not phone calls --would go out ‘very soon.’ Looks like the other Ivys have been dipping into their waiting lists. If you hear --post here so we all know! Thanks.
