There is one second hand info post of wl acceptance at Pepperdine. Record shows this may be an unreliable source. Anybody else hear any movement at pepperdine, D is anxious (to say the least)!

With the mass number of people applying to 6+ colleges, I'd imagine, this will be the year that being on the waitlist doesn't mean your playing the lottery.

I was accepted from U. Iowa's waitlist. This is also the first year they've had one.

On other threads Byerly is expecting 40-60 to be taken from the waitlist at Harvard. These kids have to be coming from somewhere, so that action could free up some additional slots too. I'm expecting a lot more action on various waitlists this summer. The 30 kids that MIT just took had to come from somewhere too.

This is a big week--this is traditionally the week when deposits are at their high point.

The trickle effect will be interesting.

FWIW, I hear deposits at a number of publics are up.

Here's the Willliams story: http://www.williamsrecord.com/wr/?view=article§ion=news&id=7955

Anyone knows anything about Carleton, Colby, Grinnell and Franklin & Marshall?

S got acceptance packet from Northwestern McCormick waitlist yestereday

The Brown alumni counselors are reporting that the school expects no movement off the waitlist because of high yield.

As per the Middlebury staffer with whom I just spoke, some students on the WL have already been called. It is theoretically possible that others could be called between now and the end of the month.

Posters on the Vassar forum mention waitlist acceptances.

Harvard forum is reporting 80% yield which indicates no waitlist acceptances.

Wellesley?

As an aside- I thought this was kind of a cool wait list story. Andison (MIT '10) recently returned from a music trip to Armenia. One of the parent chaperones was an MIT alum. A boy who was one of their Armenian student hosts had been waitlisted at MIT and the parent and andison gave him some tips for getting off. Tonight andison received an e-mail from the boy and he got accepted off the list!

okay, that is just too good, andi! gives me that powerful forces feeling!

Has anyone heard from Swarthmore?

LOL ! yeah. And a "it's- a -small- world feeling" too!

D got a call a couple of hours ago...

I was admitted to my first choice already, but I stayed on the waitlist for Tulane and was admitted last week.

Any information on Swarthmore or Penn???

I have heard from one person who was accepted off the waitlist at Swarthmore. This person had first been contacted late last week by e-mail asking if he would still be interested in accepting an offer should they go to the waitlist. He got a call yesterday.

I haven't heard anything about how many.
