Amherst’s my top choice… but I haven’t heard anything</p>
<p>Same here. I called them towards the end of April and was told that Amherst would go to the waitlist in mid-May at the earliest.</p>
<p>I just got an e-mail offering me admission of the waitlist. Financial aid info is still a few days off though…</p>

<p>true dude. I honestly have so little hope for all my waitlists, apparently Harvards only taking <10 kids and Amherst usually aims for mid 20s, while Brown might not take any at all. And they all have pools of a 1000 kids =(. Oh well, congrats dude and don’t let my exaggerated sadness seep over!</p>

<p>@redguard117: who told you that Harvard only takes <10 kids off WL. They often takes >50 (50-150) kids off WL each year. Amherst on the other hand takes very few off.</p>
<p>i was called on monday! very excited. but also, i think they said only about six will get in off of the waitlist. i may have heard wrong but…</p>
<p>Frankein, this year they’ll only take 5-10 kids off because of an exceptionally strong yield. Straight from the regional reps mouth =(</p>
<p>It’s still better than last year when they took 0 kids.</p>

<p>Got the phone call today and got in off of the waitlist! Not sure if I’m gonna go yet tho. Gotta wait for financial aid package.</p>
<p>Is it safe to assume noone else will get called? Such a shame! It would be nice to get a “class is now closed” letter.</p>
<p>^ Not really, there’s a wave effect as the Ivies use their waitlists, Amherst could still lose kids and need to accept a few more. It’s much less likely now though.</p>
<p>Spoke to admission yesterday… they still have a few spots to fill. Told they were going slow at this point but admission would send out an email once closed.</p>
