Strawberry, I got that same e-mail.

i think today after school i might call the admissions office and ask if they know if they’re going to the wait list yet. if anyone else calls before me, please post what they say.

hi guys!

so i emailed and got this reply:

“We don’t have any updates on the waitlist just yet. It will likely be another week before we determine how many students we will be calling from the waitlist. Sit tight for now (easier said than done, I know!).”

Thanks for the update, excited23. Hopefully they start calling people soon.

Got an email from the dean of admissions today explaining how the waitlist works. It said students will be notified throughout the month of may if they are going to be accepted. Does that mean that they are for sure taking students off of it?

gamechanger, can you please share anything else the dean of admissions said in the email you got about the waitlist?
thank you

It said that you will have 3 days to accept an offer of admission if you get in. WL should be concluded by June 1st.

Nothing to major in it, but I don’t think they would’ve sent it if they weren’t planning on using the WL. Just my opinion, though.

Thanks gamechanger for posting the info from admissions. To me, it sounds like they definitely plan on using the WL. To what extent and for how many spots, who knows, but I am still hopeful for all of you. Hang in there. Good luck.

On the email, it also said that if you have not yet visited Emory, you will be given 7 days to make your decision. I think that they will probably go to the waitlist since the rmail was sent out.

And here’s what it says:

"Typically, we offer admission to wait-listed students throughout the month of May.

If you’re offered admission on either campus, you’ll have three days to accept and pay a nonrefundable enrollment deposit. If you need to make your first campus visit before deciding, we’ll offer you seven days to finalize your plans. After your visit, you will then need to make your decision about attending.

Each campus will let you know by letter and email when weve officially ended our consideration of students on the wait list. We do our best to conclude wait list activity by June 1."

Hope this helps!

Is anyone else wait listed been in contact with coaches? I’ve been talking to the track coach

i hate to be pessimistic but i don’t think we should all assume they are going to the wait list. i was in contact with 2 admissions counselors last week and they both said they didn’t know yet if emory was going to the wait list. i think we should all have hope, but not assume that they’re going to go to it all because of that super general email.

Actually, someone i know already got off the wait list

^^Really? Do you know when they found out?

Ughhhh. This is killing me. yuxuanchen, I’d like to know when your friend/acquaintance found out too!

I’m just desperate to hear anything. We still don’t know if they’re even officially going to the waitlist (although all indications are that they are). I’m hoping we hear something soon.

she told me about it on May 3rd.

that’s so weird…i wonder why those admissions counselors gave me that information then…

@excited23: Your counselors are correct.

I’m pretty sure Emory hasn’t called anybody yet in regards to wait-list. I just visited Emory again with my bro yesterday, and I also asked about the waitlist for you guys. The admission counselor who gave my bro a tour said the exact same thing, that Emory is uncertain at this point about wait-list and hasn’t contacted anybody yet.

@yuxuanchen: I suppose your friend must be bluffing.

Called admissions today and they said no decisions on the WL have been made yet, they’re still evaluating the class. They said that they will begin notifying people on the waitlist within the next 2 weeks.

Gonna be a long 2 weeks…
