Waitlist Notification Dates Thread

I thought it might be useful for some of the nail-biting waitlisters to know if other people have heard back from schools they were wait listed at. If you’ve heard back, post the school and the date you heard back on (and maybe the means by which you were notified, if you’re so inclined).

Smith College- May 5th, accept (phone call and email)

but schools will make WL offers in waves – I don’t understand what a running tally will do since it’s mutable…

Looks like Bates and Colorado College have started to take students from their waitlists (as of posts from yesterday)…

I think it just might be nice for people to know, I know it’s not like an official notification day or anything.

Does anyone know of the Johns Hopkins Waitlist dates? Or did they even start admitting students?

Has anyone heard from Villanova?

The U.C. schools in California are starting to pull from their wait lists.

Vanderbilt and CMU have started. Stanford is not taking anyone off the list this year.

St Olaf started

Anyone heard from ivy schools yet?

Here’s a compiled list of wait list notification dates and admit rates for several popular schools:

Bates isn’t taking students off the wait list. Not sure what’s going on with the student who posted on another thread, but the class of 2019 is, if anything, overenrolled.

Great idea.

So far people I know have heard from Muhlenberg, Wash U (did a round, done for now, more to come after they hear from people according to the CC Wash U thread), and UChicago, last week in April. Some people at Chicago were also accepted contingent on a gap year. Chicago is either a phone call or an email asking you to call your Rep to discuss your interest. However, people are also getting rejections now via email and deferrals via phone calls according to the thread.

People here posted last week about Middlebury spring being offered and Lehigh spring. U of Miami moved people from Spring up to Fall.

Based on threads, Johns Hopkins, Yale and Vanderbilt all took people last week.

Notre Dame sent an email last week. They exceeded goals and won’t be going to the wait list this year.

Villanova emailed a friend of my kid, told her no one will be taken off the waitlist this year.

CMU is not taking anyone off of the wait list.

Caltech will not be taking anyone.

Bryn Mawr is not taking anyone.
Any information on Grinnell?

Someone from my Ds school got into Oberlin off of the waitlist. No info on Grinnell.
