Thanks

A) No idea, probably a lot
B) No idea, probably a lot
C) Historically? For the past three or so years, 0 have gotten in from the waitlist. However, they are hoping to take a few this year, unless yield is very high.

Actually last year 8 got off.

That's not what an admissions officer told me. Where'd you hear that?

Well US News, if it is to be believed, states that for the Class of 2007, 814 applicants were placed on Yale's waiting list and, ultimately, none were accepted.

I could not find any data for the Class of 2008, but I think Emperor Brent has since his figure seems to be in line with waitlist acceptances of the past.

Haha, well that's what my admit officer said. I feel so immature by saying that. But i also heard it from the head admissions person during bulldog days.

Anyway, initially admitted students numbered at 1,950 while final admits numbered at 1,958.

talks about the 1,950 initially admitted

http://www.yale.edu/asc/newsletter/fall_2004.pdf
the third page (to the right, under the graph) shows 1,958 admits

814 seems to be a ridiculously large waitlist considering Yale's matriculation rate.

Do we have any sources for the total waitlist number?
