Waitlist or open section?

Sorry if this was asked already, but how long do you stay on the waitlist or know when to give up?

What are my chances at waitlist position 5 for MATH 20c (35 limit) and waitlist position 1 for CAT 1 (15 limit)?

@madden2009 -you will get in - you just might have to choose a less desirable professor or time. Don’t worry.

@aysman - Not really.

@say what - at least until the end of the first week of classes, because lots of people attend a couple lectures and then decide to drop.

@itsjoshchoi - your chances are good, I would feel confident in those waitlist positions.

I’m waitlisted for Math 20C for James Lin, and say people start dropping after the first week of school, does that mean I wont have a math class and would have to wait until after the first week of school ? Or should I just choose the other Math 20C who has a lot of available spots now…

^You can still attend the math class that you are waitlisted for and just hope a spot opens up. That way you won’t be behind/miss any material the first week.
No one calls roll - so no one cares if you sit in on a lecture.

How about Steven’s 10A (the really early morning one at 9)?
I’m #3 on the waitlist - any chance of getting it?

what are the chances that they will add another discussion for any of the other professors for chem6a/ math10a? all the discussion times that are left are so inconvenient and the waitlists don’t provide me of much hope ):

Hi. Is there a chance to be #8 on the waitlist for Stuart’s Chem 6a? Or should I take another course completely? Thanks!

Ug, I’m number #5 on Stuart’s waitlist for Chem6a for the 3:00-3:50pm class, discussion at 8:00-8:50am. I moved 2 spots since I registered yesterday. I really hope I can get this class haha.

^ You have given me hope! After an hour of refreshing, I am still at #9. At least the list moves!

Do you have a backup plan in case you don’t get in? I tried registering for music, but the system claims that it’s too many units (w/ chem added in). UGH.

Does the 10 percent rule apply for CAT1? Seems like a whole lot to risk in case things don’t work out.

7 chema. When will the stress end!!

I found this site which is a great study break: Calisto100.com - [Welcome to Calisto100! | Calisto100](http://www.calisto100.com)
