After being waitlisted and sending out my personal statement, I'm getting the vibe that I should e-mail and contact the admissions office/my regions admissions officer so that I'm "on the radar" so to speak. But...i don't really know what to say without sounding needy or annoying. What i have so far is thanking them for another chance, that I forfeited my position on the WL for other schools and that Columbia is still my top priority school and that I'm including a copy of my (already sent out via snail mail) personal supplement in my e-mail for "their convenience".

So...pretty bland stuff. Ideally i'd like to say or ask an innocuous question that will reserve a spot in their memory for me.
