Waitlist Process

Does anyone know how UCLA utilizes their waitlist process? Is it by each individual high school or is it just a collection of kids from around the world. So lets say in each highschool UCLA admitted 20 seniors that applied and about 10 of them decide to accept admissions to UCLA. Does that other 10 supply room for waitlisted applicants from their school or the waitlist population in general?

anybody :O

This is UCLA’s first time having a waitlist. I’m sure their own admission officers don’t even know how it’s going to work.

Wouldnt even count on the waitlist. Prob admitted 15-16,000. Class size 5500 ish. No way. (was waitlisted too!)

worse comes to worse. The UCs are trying to bleed more money off us. Making us pay for an SIR to another school than UCLA will accept or decline us after we make that deposit…

Where on earth did you get UCLA admitted around 15-16,000 applicants?

If UCLA accepted 15-16000 applicants than that means 1 out of 5 applicants was admitted. Thats just preposterous… Id say its something likee 8000 applicants at most. 8000 out of 72000 is pretty dang good for a top 25 school.

^ Why is that preposterous? Their acceptance rate in recent years has hovered around 25%. Assuming their yield doesn’t go up, they should indeed accept around 16,000 students.
