DR- D was offered a spot on the “short” waitlist. ANy idea of how short is short, how many move to admit, how soon after 5/1 it happens? Any insight appreciated.

I would like to know if BU lets students know before the May 1st deposit date because if it was after, well a waitlist would be pretty pointless unless you decided not to go to any of the accepted schools and take a huge risk of only going to college only off of a waitlist.

Who-knew- I'm sorry but I do not know the answer to this. Rather than give you incorrect information, I would advise you to call up the admissions office. Perhaps they will give you an idea of how long the waitlist actually is and when students are notified if they are accepted off it. I apologize for my lack of knowledge of such technical aspects of admissions. Good luck.

Yea, i'm also wondering about when waitlist notification is

aznmatrix1869 - you pay your deposit at a school you've been accepted to and then if you do get off the waitlist at BU and you want to go, you forfeit your deposit at the first school and pay your deposit at BU so its not really a risk its just that you will be losing your deposit at your first school (usually between $400-$600), you wont get many housing options, and your financial aid will probably suck

I see. Do you have any advice how to get off waitlists?
