I was waitlisted at William & Mary and I am still very interested in attending. I visited last week and the trip confirmed my love for the school :)

I want to send a letter to the admissions office expressing my continued interest. Is it more appropriate to send an actual letter, or to simply send an e-mail to the office of undergraduate admissions? Or does it not matter either way?

We recommend just sending an email to your regional dean. You can determine who that is by looking at our Meet the Committee Page and looking for the dean who’s geographic region includes your high school ([William & Mary - Meet the Committee](http://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/meetthecommittee/index.php))

Oh, okay! Thank you very much. You are always such a help It is much appreciated!

It’s our pleasure. We’re happy to help anyone with questions about our process.

Now that May 1 has passed, can W&M Admissions make any comments about timing of waitlist decisions? Thanks.

Unfortunately we cannot. Because May 1 was a Sunday we need to honor any deposits submitted today and the deadline is a postmark deadline so we likely will not have an accurate view of where we sit until sometime next week. Once we know whether or not we will go to the waitlist it will take us additional time to know to what extent and for whom. The Committee will reconvene and determine who to admit so it’s unlikely that any movement, if allowed, will happen for another few weeks.

I am so excited to hear whether or not W&M will be going to the waitlist.

Reaction, the most recent Admit It! blog provided more information on the waitlist process as well as an estimated timeline.
Thank you W&M Admission! That post answered all of my questions.

Gosh, the admission committee is on the ball with these posts. I enjoyed the absurdist play reference, we are studying similar ideas in AP Lit.

Glad you liked it. One of our senior tour guides just did a presentation on a Chinese absurdist playright who was inspired by Beckett and Brecht so it served as a great starting point for the blog

I just emailed the admissions rep for our area that D no longer wishes to remain on the WL. Good luck to all those who are waitlisted – I hope spaces open up for you.

Class of 2015, thanks for doing that. That helps us a great deal should we be admitting students from the waitlist so that we no longer consider those who are no longer interested in attending. We will cancel your daughter’s application and she should receive an automated email once that process is complete. Best of luck to her.
