Hey, I just received my wait list letter today from Uconn. I was wondering how they review the wait list prospects and how many they admit. Do the adcoms already have a ranked list of people on there wait list or is it free for all? What is the percent admitted versus rejected for last year? Also, any tips for getting me off the wait list and into the school?

Don’t know, S is still DEFERRED! and waiting…

A couple of years ago they reported that 23% of those who stayed on the list were later admitted. Generally speaking, financial aid seems hard to come by for people on the wait list from what I’ve heard though. Holy Cross just tells you there’s no way.

“Holy Cross just tells you there’s no way.”? Should I right a letter to them explaining that I don’t need financial aid?

Holy Cross means that if you choose to stay on the list, you do it knowing you’re not going to get any aid. i don’t know what the situation is with UConn. If you didn’t apply for aid, they will probably assume you don’t need it. It can’t hurt to contact them to let them know they’re your number one choice and, incidentally, that money will not be a problem, if that’s the case.

I called Uconn a couple days ago and I asked if I wasnt accepted to Uconn storrs on the waitlist, could I attend one of the branches campuses for a year and transfer up. They told me that I had to choose between waitlist and a branch campus. ***!
