I just got my notification about being waitlisted :( and was wondering about a few stats about the waitlist. First how many does Clemson waitlist. Second what percentages of students that apply for waitlist get in. Third how does Clemson determine who makes it off the wait list and into the school, is it first who sign up for it get the first spots that open, or is based off academics and who on the wait list is most qualified.

These answers would really help as I am pondering if I should go on the wait list or not.

The waiting list people are apparently ranked but it is unknown how people are ranked or even who is ranked where. I don’t think it would be the time you sign up for the wait list (that wouldn’t be fair), most likely based on qualifications.

3.3 GPA from a very competitive school (Includes a few AP courses)
28 ACT
Extra Circulars Include
Service trips abroad and within the USA
Worked all 3 summers at multiple jobs
Numerous leadership awards
Wrote as a journalist for a website (unpaid)
Various community religious and non religious volunteer groups

Still deciding on whether or not to do wait list, disappointed about not getting in, a few kids from my school with similar stats were admitted which made it worse

I’ve also been placed on the wait list at Clemson. I understand that those accepted off the waitlist are to fill in the last available spots. What I’m wondering is that if some people are accepted off the waitlist and choose not to attend, do they accept others off the waitlist that are notified at a later date to fill those spots?
