Hi, I'm new here ...

I got waitlisted for ECE at CIT ... and 'Not Admitted' for SCS ... I didn't really want to go to SCS neway ...

CMU said they sent the letter on 26th but I live in India so I still haven't got my waitlist letter...

I wanted to know :-

a) Can I be on the priority waitlist? Cause I read that you have to apply only to one school to get priority waitlist...
b) I really want to go to CMU. Is there any more stuff I can send CMU? like I'm doing my A levels ... and i recently did some modules in January '08 ... I got the results for that ... should I send that to CMU?
c) What are the chances that I can be admitted from the waitlist?

thanx...

1 - yes
2 - write a letter
3 - 20% if priority

I called CMU yesterday. The representative said there is only one wait list and more info. about the wait list will be available April 7. I suggest you call CMU admissions office April 7 to find out where you are on the wait list and what your chances of admission are.

Sorry, I made a mistake. According to Alan's Carnegie Mellon Page, you can't get on the priority list if you've applied to more than one school in CMU... Can anyone confirm?

mdcissp, thanks for confirming w/ CMU about the wait list.

"you can't get on the priority list if you've applied to more than one school in CMU... Can anyone confirm?"

I applied to three schools at CMU and was waitlisted at all three, yet I still received a priority waitlist. Not too big of a deal considering I got into more of my top choices, but an interesting improbability.
