round about how big is the waitlist?

good question...i guess there are at least two of us

make that three.

I guess four.

now five.

i asked admissions-- if 10 students apply, 2 are accepted, 1 is waitlisted and 7 are rejected... so good job guys... its not over 'til its over.

six (my d). More importantly, how many ever get in off the waitlist? Does anyone know the relative difficulty of admissions percentage of arts and sciences college vs. Walsh? I'm second-guessing d's decision to apply WFS. Oh well.

Today American offered her presidential scholarship and $25K per year, so sting of waitlist is ebbing...

wel im one of the 7 that got rejected... pooooooooooo

on average 20%-50% can get off it, but it depends on the specific school you applied to... im guessing hardest to easiest is SFS, CAS, MSB, NHS.

seven..........waitlisted at SFS

Does anyone know how many people applied overall to Georgetown? I wonder if the 2 accepted, 1 waitlisted, 7 rejected applies to all the different schools... I was waitlisted from MSB, and Georgetown is my absolute dream school. I want to go there more than anything. But my mom doesn't think I have much of a chance at getting in. I don't want to believe this though... Of course I will say I want to remain on the waitlist, but what else can I do? I was hoping I had some shot even though my SATs are slightly lower than the average, and I'm not from some rare Indian tribe... my brother graduated from MSB second after valedictorian, and I made it so clear in my application, essays, and interview that Gtown was my first choice... is there any hope? Does anyone know of anybody in the past who was able to get off of the waitlist, and was there anything in particular they did to get off of it? I think if I could distinguish myself in some way, it might help. Thanks so much, and good luck everyone... (oh and I make 8 waitlisted...) :)

ilovedogs! i totally wanted you to get in, and i think you still have a chance! Send them updated grades, letters of rec, write them a really sincere letter about why you love gtown so much, gahhh i hope it works for you! good luck!

my friend got waitlisted. i feel so bad because she was deferred for EA and georgetown is her first choice. i also know two people that got in, and one doesn't want to go there as much so it kind of stinks.

I make 9. I hope we can all get in somehow.

someone told my mom that showing an interest in the school may help with getting off the waitlist. gtown was at the top of my list, so the waitlist stings, but i'm not sure if it's worth it to go to the east coast (from cali) to see a waitlisted school with such a low chance of getting in. are there other things i can do to express interest / strong desire in getting off the waitlist? would it even help? it won't be the end of the world if i don't (i have other options) but i'd really like to get in.

For Shaganov you are THE sweetest person, ever! I can't even tell you how much that means to me... :) Tell me if you get the email I sent through CC b/c your message inbox was full...

Oh, and question (for everyone): Does anyone know if Georgetown's waitlist is ranked? If so, do you know if it's possible to call and find out where you stand on the list?

ilovedogs! glad it helped! i deleted an old message for you, so maybe it'll work now? i dislike the 50 message limit....

Count me.

I don't think I'll stay in it though.

Two others from my school. We all got deferred now waitlisted. Come on gtown, make up your mind. Admit or deny.

nevermind forget i even started this thread, i got into princeton!!

better school anyways.

that was such an obnoxious post
