I'm not applying for a spot on the waitlist, just posting this as a future references for students. With so many people applying to so many schools they really have no interest in I bet there will be a large amount of people from the waitlist who eventually get in.

waitlisted! cas
2110/1420
3.7 gpa
i seriously hope manymanymany people choose not to go to nyu. haha

can we also add who decided to accept the waitlist and who didn't. that way, we can get an idea of how many people will remain on the waitlist and predict our chances.

and another question..most schools want you to reply to their acceptances by may. so if you accept an offer at a school and then hear back from nyu saying that you've been taken off the wait list..can u take back your acceptance at the other school?

well yeah, except the deposit at other institutions are non-refundable

Yes, mjl, that's how the system works. If NYU offers you a spot after May 1, you can decide whether or not to accept it at that time. If you do, you just tell the other school you will not be attending there after all. (You will lose your deposit though.)
