^^ There’s a term called “summer melt” so you can never be quite sure…

so i just talked to my admissions counselor at penn, and the impression i got from him was that they don’t even go over your application if you’re not in an area they need. he said if they need business majors, they only look for those applications and review them. so i got the impression that my app hadn’t been reviewed because they don’t need more of the people like me.

he also sort of implied that all the people for the first round of accepted-off-waitlist applicants had been called already and they would determine if they need more after everyone replies.

none of this is for certain, it’s just the impression i got from talking to him on the phone

But did you have to apply to a specific business school at Penn? Do you think “intended major” makes a difference if I didn’t apply to a specific school?

i think they just looked at intended major. my counselor didn’t even know i’d sent add’l stuff in so i don’t think they even look at your file if you’re not in an area they need.

Didn’t get any responses previously, so…does anyone know anything about the status of the waitlist at Vassar?

Does any one have any idea about the waitlist for UAlbany ?

are the finalized accepted/rejected decisions at u of penn just for certain schools, or does it apply to cas as well?

jenesais_quoi…sorry i have no idea. he said that they sent out an email on friday which i didn’t get until this morning.

No waitlist success stories for me yet, alas. Does anyone know news about Brown?

Do all schools call you before they send stuff? Just wanna know 'cos that will save me a mailbox trip.

Harvard is definitely active. A girl from my school got in. She isn’t a special case or anything, just really really intelligent. as in like 4.0 / 2400

Princeton apparently is done admitting their first pool: [Web Update: University admits 86 waitlisted high school seniors - The Daily Princetonian](http://www.dailyprincetonian.com/2008/05/12/21188/)

jl… i think the decisions are for all schools. i don’t think they’re actually rejecting people as of right now though

what exactly does “short list” mean under dartmouth?

My daughter is on the waitlist for engineering at Cornell. She emailed them Friday 5/9 and got a response back saying that the engineering yield was higher than anticipated and that it was “very unlikely” that they would go to the waitlist this year, but that if they did, it would be within the next few weeks.
