Hey just got waitlisted...ehh i know...but got into Bos U w/ 36 k in grants...so im still happy...anyway who else was waitlisted..and say whether you'll put your name on the list...

Stats:

3.83 uW

Yes i will be sending in my card

I got waitlisted.. dont feel like posting my stats.. its not like htey were good enough anyway

I'm so disappointed, I thought I had an excellent shot at Vandy, but I guess not.. second waitlist after WashU.. now have my ohter schools to hear from, which isnt looking too hot...ugghghgh

waitlisted

Asian
3.55 uw GPA (probably the main reason)
32 ACT (35,36 math science)
School of Engineering
800 for SAT 1 math section, SAT II math Ic
concert master for numerous orchestras, quartets etc
state tennis
volunteer
engineering mentorship
etc etc etc

this low GPA is killing me f***.......

i got waitlisted too, kinda upset. i'm sending in the card and going if i get accepted. i got 1360 on the SAT, 780 on span SAT II and 760 on US hist SAT II, gpa is 4.67 on 5.0 scale(i think that's unweighted), my rank is 57 out of 660. im a service club officer and in NHS and a couple other clubs, and im on the dance team. i think that's about it. i dk my transcipt, essays etc were all pretty good but oh well. congrats to everyone who got in and hopefully some of us will be taken off the waitlist.

Hey if someone gets accepted and turns it down does that mean slots open up for someone on the waitlist? Just wondering because I was accepted, and its a WONDERFUL scholarship and money and school, I just have to get away from TENNESSEE... so I think I'm going to Boston U instead.....

peppercody....me too...i agree, if you live in tennessee and wanna leave BOSTON U is the place to go lol....i hope i see ya there...they give amzing aid..i got 36k in grants 7k in loans and work study

^ nope
say that they want a class of 2000
say that they accept around of 4000

If only 1940 enrolls, they will fill up 60 from waitlist

DO NOT go to bu instead... i live 5 min away from campus... granted, its still a good place/school, but unless money is a big concern I would definetly not pick BU over Vandy

i got waitlisted with a 35 ACT and 3.85 GPA.

boston is very overrated as a "college town"... bars are very strict w/ ids, its freakin freeeezing most of the year.... food is amazing and its a neat place (lived in Boston whole life), but I've been to Vandy/Nashville numerous times, and theres no way Id pick BU over Vanderbilt... esp now that Vandy is becoming more of a "national" university w/ kids from all over

I got waitlisted
Asian Female from Houston
SAT: 2100 (720 M 670 V 710 W)
Rank: Top 10 %
GPA: 3.86 UW
Concertmaster, All-State awards, Golf Captain, blah blah blah
:(
I kind of feel like a whole bunch of Asians were waitlisted... what's the deal? I thought Vanderbilt was on a low of Asians and wanted to diversify their student body. I got the letter and was like "Oh okay wow... this incredibly sucks." 4 down 5 to go. Denied from Rice, Accepted to CMU and UT, Waitlisted from Vandy. The roller coaster continues! :/

EDIT
I'm thinking about not sending in my card :( because I'm not sure I want to be accepted that way. I'm such a B I know :p

Waitlisted
White Male- South Carolina
GPA: 4.65 W 3.9 UW
SAT1: 2100 (M 720 V 700 W 680)
SATII: 710, 690
EC: Very strong

Well, I'm not really sure if I'm going to send in my card yet or not. I guess I'll wait to see what Wake and W&L say. If all else fails, I've got awesome packages from three other schools...so, we'll see what happens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

pengwinsrawk--

I share your sentiments. I thought they were low on Asians too lol.. by the way, I was WLed (and am Asian). It's quirky because we have almost the exact same stats and we both applied to 9 schools (I'm assuming you applied to 9). O WELL!

I think a lot of the WLed people have similar stats. A few INCREDIBLE stats were WLed too, so I'm just confused confused confused.

Does anyone know if this is typical Vandy? Does anyone have any insight on Vandy's distinct admissions or any "trends" that is typical of Vandy?

in my school ( Maryland) , there are 4 asian girls who got into Vandy.... i was suprised.

At my school (which is in a suburb of Nashville), 3 seniors got accepted to Vandy. One is on a football scholarship (so he's known since like last spring...seriously), I got in early decision, and the 3rd got in regular decision (he got invited to Honors weekend, so he found out early). Football player is white male, I'm white female, and the 3rd person is hispanic male...no asians, heh!

Son waitlisted...
