According to the 2006 USNews, last year Vanderbilt placed 1,195 applicants on the waiting list, 500 accepted a place on the waiting list, and 19 students were enrolled from the waiting list.

a lot of the pple who are worried about weightlisted. dont worry b/c i went to a vu program to visit and a big majority of the other students there said that vandy either wasnt their first choice or that they didnt want to go there. so there may be alot more available spots than pple think

^^
I doubt it. Look at the Common Set Data, the yield has been very strong in the past few years. Last year, some freshmen lived in Towers because too many freshmen accepted offers. I hope you guys get off, but it can be difficult to get off waitlists. It really depends on the year.

50 people accepted off waitlist last year of 514

Vandy calculates the disparity in admits and matriculants. They over-admit so that, ideally, no one is overcrowded and no one needs to be taken from the waitlist.

they are extremely random, like every other school.
basically, high gpa, sat, class selection, and essay will help chances.

it really depends on what kind of individual they want to make a "well rounded" class. you could have the highest SAT and still not make it off the waitlist.
