I, along with many others, was waitlisted. I have some questions, so I figured I'd start a thread where people can ask questions, discuss waitlist stuff, etc.

Anyways, my questions are: how many people were waitlisted? And what are the chances (historically at least; same applies for the # of people on the waitlist) of getting off of the waitlist? Thanks.

Does anybody know if JHU posts the common data set? I've been unable to find it if they do, but if they do compile it, it has historical information on wait-list sizes and the percentages that get off it.

^^lol sorry but what does that mean? So the people who do not get admitted, the majority get on the wait-list??? Because I thought that not a lot of ppl get the opportunity to be on the wait-list.

I'm not sure if this right though, since JHU's "admitted" statistic might include waitlisted students.

So while I'm probably a little off, that should give you an idea of the sort of numbers we're dealing with. Acceptances are about 20%, waitlists about 10%, and rejections about 70%.

Not bad, I guess we'll all just have to keep on keepin' on, eh?

Although, I do have a question. The waitlist e-mail mentioned something about the availibility of financial aid. Does that mean that, in the chance that we do get off the wait list, we may get smaller financial aid packages than if we were accepted regular?

wondering about the same thing as Nurd re: the FA packages....

do the gods conspire to put Spring Break right around decisions time? because I started my break with a rejection letter and now I'm finishing up with a waitlist!
