Waitlist Thread

Winning the huge debate tournament is pretty big news.

Oh, and unless it's in a big newspaper or anything, how do you update them on accomplishments? Just tell them?

I don't think you can get BME off the WL - I imagine it's just engineering regular.

I just sent an e-mail saying that i was still interested in teh school, I had just lead my team to a state debate tourny, I had just won a scholarship for outstanding achievement in the social studies, and that I was finishing an independent study on Irish History. I thanked them and said i hoped i would hear from them soon...

...i received an email shortly thereafter thanking me for being in direct contact and saying that they would have some news for my by "tomorrow." The next day I e-mailed my college counsler who said I should come back that afternoon. At about 2 pm I received a call from the admissions office.

That's it. Seriously. So basically, I did very little to get myself off the waitlist. In subsequent convos with a dean I was told that they were looking carefully at me for a long time. So they probably have an idea already of who they're going to admit. It's out of your hands and completely up to fate.

how do we send/update our information like it says on the letter/email???

find your regional representative and email them/send a letter/email to the admissions office as a whole

if you're waitlisted at more than one college, can you accept a position on the waitlist for more than one?

justask: I believe so, I am on both Hopkins and UChicago's waitlists

Yes. I had a friend that was on the waitlists for Georgetown, Williams, and Brown. He ended up getting off the Brown waitlist last year and going there.

I was waitlisted at two places (the other I was pretty upset about, it was a safety for me), and only stayed on the JHU one. Smart choice.
