Waitlist-- to Admissions Daniel

How is the yield for RD looking this year Admissions Daniel. Do you think that JHU will be taking anyone off of the waitlist?

No comment. We will not be making any comment until after May 15th. Sorry.

Any news on wait list?

my sources say lil or NO use of waitlist.. and I have pretty good JHU sources. Looks like they got the right amount of deposits back and JHU guessed right again!!

EDIT... they guessed wrong last year and overenrolled.. this year they got it right :)

can we get an official reply from the JHU Admissions Office (in the form of AdmissionDaniel) to verify or comment on the situation...

...please

Staff is in a meeting today--- possibly about the waiting list.

WSJ had an article today which said zero for waitlist.

what's WSJ?

i believe it's wall street journal

From here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=191190
"Emory will not take anyone off WL, nor with The OSU, nor P'ton. H may take 5-10, G'town ~10, Chicago and JHU less than 10, UPenn = 10-15, UNCC = 100 (they under-accepted on purpose), Swat 20-30."

So perhaps there is a small hope.

Update For Wait List Students

Earlier this week, the Counseling team met with the Director of Admissions and began the discussion of enrolling class size and the wait list. It is important to note that NO FINAL DECISIONS have yet to be made, and this discussion will continue for the next couple of weeks. We will be quite deliberate in our process, taking a look at the whole picture and not making any quick decisions.

As a staff we will continue to discuss these issues and hope to have final decisions by the end of the month. Once we have reached a decision, all students who selected to remain on the wait list will be notified by mail or email. Many of you will have questions and want to know your decisions as soon as possible -- unfortunately we need to have time to weigh many factors. There is nothing you need to do at this time, but just be patient.

Once again, I repeat we have not made any final decisions on the wait list and will update you all by the end of the month. Feel free to post any questions in the comments section if you need clarification.

Now let's try to clear up some of the information written on this thread:

"my sources say lil or NO use of waitlist"
Don't believe such posts. We have just begun to make wait list considerations, and though the numbers look good no official decisions have been made. We need time.

"Staff is in a meeting today--- possibly about the waiting list."
Actually we were all out to lunch celebrating a hard year. No discussion of the wait list at our lunch.

"WSJ had an article today which said zero for waitlist."
I have yet to read the Wall Street Journal article so I have no way of checking this source. As I have already said, no final decisions have been made so any source stating "fact" is really just speculation.

ADVICE: Have patience. Stop the speculation. Wait for our official answer. We will inform you by the end of the month.

ok, don't have to believe my post.. but i'm just letting you know what my source says...jeez. "though the numbers look good" is a pretty good indication that my source is right, isnt it?...uh huh

This guy is probably more reliable then your source since he (AdmissionsDaniel) actually works in the admissions office.

How many students have enrolled so far?

chill, guys, you heard the man - wait till the end of the month! that's less than 2 weeks from now!

I'm already enrolled, I was just wondering how many students enrolled so far, they still can overenroll if they want some more off the waitlist, but I was just wondering

AdmissionsDaniel: When do Transfer students receive their decision?

Hey Admissions Daniel... I chose to remain on the waiting list at Hopkins and found out yesterday that I am the Valedictorian of my senior class, I am receiving straight A's for all four years, and also that I will be the recipient of quite a few local scholarships(30,000 worth).

Is it too late to send an update to Hopkins? Is there an email address that I can send this information to that would ensure it be reviewed with my file? Please help me AdmissionsDaniel because Hopkins is definitely where I want to be next year!!

I guess we'll see boys and girls :) My source still says they are on target for little or zero waitlist use.
