Waitlist UCF 2021

Anyone else on the waitlist? My son is. UCF is his dream school so praying for him. Any waitlist info is appreciated, and were you asked for any supplemental information?

Let us know when you find out whether he is waitlisted generally, waitlisted for Summer 2021, or accepted for Summer 2021.

And again, Good Luck!

I assume summer he applied for summer session as a freshman. I’m mostly wondering do they normally ask for extra items (ie official transcript) with waitlist status?

Yes, they ask for official transcripts, but you won’t have that until he graduates and they don’t actually even have to be on file before classes start. Our counselor had the ability to just upload the transcripts when they were ready, so that was a simple step for us. Otherwise, you might have to mail them.

But while we were waiting, I sent interim copies of my daughter’s report cards each quarter.

The thing that I can’t remember, tho, is whether they asked for transcripts before she was accepted.

If you have any doubt at all on his status, I would certainly CALL undergrad admissions and ask them exactly where he stands.

And it certainly wouldn’t hurt to let them know UCF is his dream school.

I would tell undergrad admissions exactly what you said above – word for word: “UCF is his dream school so we’re praying for him!”

Let them know this is very personal for him.

We do have official transcripts and are sending them to UCF. I think you are confusing Official transcript with Final transcript as USF and FIU only take official transcripts as do other schools (at application).

All schools demand final official transcript before you start classes but tons of schools ask for interim official transcripts at application.

The question is do all waitlisted at UCF get asked for a copy of their official transcript or simply some who are really accepted pending transcript. I don’t know!

yes same, but instead was waitlisted for fall 2021. Anything that could help us speed up the process at all or help, UCF is top/dream school.

more just any advice or anything we can do as if accepted the seat would be taken without hesitation. Already tried to send a letter of continued interest but was quickly informed they don’t take those so it wouldn’t be added. anything we can do to let them know this is IT for them?

There are several suggestions I would offer to ALL applicants who are sweating out a decision from UCF.

  1. If there is some aspect of the application process that you are unsure about (something technical), CALL undergraduate admissions. They will help you to the degree that they can help you.

  2. Do NOT give them an ultimatum – like, “We need to know right now because we have another school waiting.” If you do that, you might be putting them in a position where the only answer they can give you is “NO.” Don’t paint yourself into a corner like that.

  3. Never ASSUME the person you are talking to can’t help. Most of the time they probably will NOT have the authority to give you a decision (other than NO, if you insist)…but you never know. I remember a couple of people on waitlist last year being told, “Hold on, let me check…” and then the person came back with “Congratulations.” You don’t know who you are talking to on the phone. It could be a student working a part time job, or it could be a senior member of the staff who can make things happen. That’s also why I say it’s a good idea to let them know if UCF is your child’s dream school.

  4. I’ve said this many times, but nobody goes back and reads every post, even on the same thread: SUMMER admission is one of the best deals UCF has…maybe THE best. All summer admission means is that you have to take one online class during Summer B, and you are IN for Fall. It’s just full Fall acceptance with an early start. I personally think it’s actually a better way to start college than traditional Fall admission.

Did they ask you for your transcript when waitlisted?

no, just that ive been placed on the waitlist and that they check frequently. but i submitted my mid year grades like they told everyone to do a while ago.

How do you know waitlisted for Fall 2021? My son’s just says waitlisted. He applied for Summer 2021.

Here’s what happened with FALL applications last year, but of course there is no guarantee the same procedure will be used this year.

Students applied for the Fall. UCF uses a rolling acceptance, so some people do get accepted pretty quickly.

From that initial application, students got one of four decisions:

  • Accepted for Fall 2020

  • Accepted for Summer 2020 (my daughter’s result)

  • Declined admission

  • Waitlisted

Then, as the weeks dragged on, waitlisted students got offered Fall 2020 admission (mostly when the UF/FSU acceptances came out), Summer 2020 admission (which includes Fall), and some got offered Spring 2021 admission and just started at UCF last month.

And just FYI, I think there were students still getting accepted into April, May…maybe later.

They applied for fall is what I mean but the waitlist doesn’t specify anything in terms of what term they are waitlisted for of course sorry for not being specific!

If we haven’t received a response from UCF yet should we be worried? I applied in October! I really want to go to UCF!

You are waitlisted for whatever term you applied for. Your result coming off the waitlist could be another term.

What is your status? You should be able to go to your Student Self Service on MyUCF and tell whether you are accepted, declined, or on waitlist.

If you can’t figure that out, call Undergrad Admissions and ask them where you stand.

None of us can help you without you knowing that information.

My status just says “ your application is currently being reviewed by our admissions committee” it’s been like that since November! Should I call them?

Anyone come off the waitlist yet in 2021? Or get asked for intern official transcript?

We are eagerly still waiting and were asked for an intern official transcript.
