Yay, Ally! Congratulations!
how long did you have to wait?
Hi,
Iâm new here But I just just found out that Iâm on the waitlist for Fall 2021 & I am wondering if I should write a letter of intent or if they donât accept it. If I shouldnât, what else can I do to help me off the waitlist?
Has anyone heard anything from the waitlist? It is currently May 24, and the UCF portal says all students will be notified no later than May 31. Still waitingâŠ
Hi!
Nothing! I havenât held back from them! I was waitlisted on April 1st almost 2 months ago, and still on the waitlist.
Same. Waitlisted beginning of April, and nothing since. I am wondering if anyone has been declined yet off of the waitlist, or if there are only acceptances off of the waitlist and then on May 31, anyone remaining on waitlist will get an official âdeclinedâ.
Hi, I was placed on waitlist from JAN. And I ask for final decision on May 14 afternoon. And the lady told me she requested to me and when I check in the evening (same day) my status change. It change from waitlist to an offer for spring 2022. I hope it helps you⊠maybe you can try to ask for a final decision
Did you call or email them? And so what did you say?
Iâm still on the waitlist too. I was thinking about asking for an early decision but I didnât want to affect my chances of either getting in or getting in at a better position. Itâs only 6 more days of waiting but I donât know how they are managing their waitlist so Iâm kinda paranoid. I think I may just wait out the days and call to voice my concerns. Does this sound like a good idea?
Hi!
I just call and ask for a final decision they where really helpful! If you want you can call and ask for a expedite decision, or you can just wait until May 31st because the lady told me if you donât get a decision now they for sure give it on the 31st! Hope this helps!
What was your answer? Did you get in?
Also, itâs been said dozens of times on these waitlist threads, but I know people donât read the 50 previous posts: If you get offered Summer 2021, TAKE IT! Itâs a great deal â one class during Summer B and you are admitted for the Fall.
Hey thanks for the help, I asked for an expedited decision as well. So wish me luck and good luck to you and everyone else that are still on the waitlist!
Those of you who are asking for an expedited decisionâŠmay I ask what your stats are?
Sure
Gpa: 4.5
SAT: 1120
All IB Classes
Is this good?
I think those are GREAT stats, you should be proud! You will do great at UCF or any other school! I also have a 4.5 GPA however my SAT Score is a 1070. I have also taken 2 AICE classes. Thanks for sharing, Good Luck to all!
Iâm not going to speculate, because UCFâs admissions seem to have gotten very competitive this year.
The GPA is obviously very good, but be aware that UCF recalculates weighted GPAâs. They only use core courses required for graduation by the State of Florida, so none of those bonuses you earned on electives will count. Youâre still going to have a high GPAâŠjust not as high as you think.
Another strong point is your IB program. That shows that you survived a very rigorous curriculum, and itâs probably a better indicator of how youâll do in college than any standardized test.
The SAT score is a little low, but hopefully that will be outweighed by the GPA and IB program. Youâve proved you can succeed in a very demanding program.
In the past, UCF has been heavily focused on SAT/ACT scores, but this year so many people had limited chances to test that I hope they have changed that.
Good luck!
Still says waitlisted!
There is sometimes a couple of days lag between something happening and it getting posted to your MyUCF â especially this time of year. A semester just ended, with all the grades being posted. A new semester just started with account payments, holds, and to-doâs, etc. ANDâŠtheyâre in the middle of the big admissions crunch. And, they still have a lot of people working remotely. So itâs not surprising that things are moving slowly.
Ya I figure! Thank you by the way!
