I just got a call on my cellphone about ten minutes ago that as of this morning, WashU has spaces available and offered me a place off of the waitlist! I'm thrilled, but not sure if I will be attending (money issues).

This is good news for everyone (the fact that there are open spots)! I have to let them know by Monday at 1:00, so if anyone doesn't get a call now, there will probably be another "wave" around then.

hey! I also got a call on my cell phone about an hour and a half ago and was offered admission. I'm not sure if I'll be attending or not... I'm very happy with the school I deposited at, but Wash U was one of my top choices, so we'll see.... anyway, the admissions officer said that they are making calls to a small group of people this weekend, and depending on what they hear on Monday, they could be making more calls next week. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting, and don't give up yet!!

I didn't send anything extra either... I didn't even say yes to a spot on the waitlist right away; I think I waited until around the first week in April when I had heard from all of my schools.

Eek! I doubt this was a call from them-- but now I'm paranoid.
I'm noticing an unfamiliar number on my cell phone, and it's under "missed calls" (I guess my phone was off?).
Does the undergrad admissions office in St. Louis itself call you? Or some sort of regional rep? Even though this would mean I didn't get a call, I hope the former, b/c "856" is definitely not the area code for St. Louis.
Ahh! Help!

The call I got was from a 314 number, too... also, I wouldn't worry if you don't have a cell phone. If they want to tell you that you were accepted, they'll find a way to contact you, either by e-mail, home phone, etc.

Did they want you to say yes right then on the phone? Did they say that they would be sending a follow-up acceptance letter?

I think a lot of us had to send in deposits to other places by May 1. Wouldn't students who are called at least want to take 24 hours to talk this over with their parents?
