Hey,
I got wait listed for Syracuse University.
I accepted their wait list, but I have to wait until May 15th to know if a seat is available.
However, all my other colleges' seats must be secured by May 1st.
What am I supposed to do??
Can I secure my spot at another school, and if Syracuse accepts me, then can I change my choice to Syracuse?
I am really scared, because now I am putting risk on my other schools by putting myself waitlisted..
But Syracuse is one of the top choices I have.
However, just because of Syracuse, I don't want to put myself in that whole situation of not getting into any college.
So I was wondering if I could change my choice after Syracuse's decision comes out.
Thank you for reading!

For RD, your accepting an admissions offer at another school is not binding. You probably will have to put down a deposit at whatever school you accept, and if you revoke your acceptance, I don’t think you’ll get the deposit back. However, other than that there is no adverse consequence for you.

Further, accepting a school and withdrawing if you get a better offer is not considered to be unethical in any way. It’s part of the process.

So, definately accept your first choice among the colleges that have already accepted you. And if Syracuse comes through, go for it!!

Good luck.

If you dont mind losing a few hundred dollars for coming off a waitlist, then definitely do it!
