Waitlist

So I have just been waitlisted to a HADES school
I really thought I was going to get accepted
Now what????
What are my chances like?
How do I cope?

Now - everyone here is baring their souls. You’ll get more of a response if you’re upfront with the name of the school. That’s how we roll.

oh sorry,
ANDOVER

i hope you don’t mind me asking where you live?
i was just wondering since you got your waitlist letter already

international so I got to check using MyAndover

How long does it normally take, after you have been put on the waitlist, to be offered a place or to be told that you have been rejected?

oh. that’s why…

to answer your question, it really varies when you get told whether or not you get off the waitlist.

and what about the other schools I got accepted to
I mean Andover is definately my favourite but I do want to go the boarding school
Also those other schools are expecting me to respond shortly
So…can I say yes and then change my mind or will I have to pay a deposit? can I delay the decision?

I’ve been waitlisted at 3 out of the 5 schools I applied to-- Exeter, Emma Willard and Hotchkiss. Exeter is the only one I’m really sore about. Still waiting on Andover and DA… Just remember that it is possible to get off the waitlist. After the 15th I’m probably going to contact admissions at my top schools that waitlisted me to see where I am on the list and whether it seems like I have a chance of getting off it, I recommend you do this as well if you’re really into that school. It might also be worth it to drop the school a line that it is your first choice.

oh my god, i feel like the city of Cleveland after the “decision”

Hey guys I am a Junior (repeat) applicant. I was accepted to Exeter, Andover, and Choate. I turned down Andover and Choate and was a full financial aid applicant. I hope it frees up some spaces for you guys!!! Best of luck!
