Historically, they have not sent letters for the wait list offers, they’ve called.

They call and send an overnight letter containg information and financial aid

Last year the first rounds of calls came on 5/5, which was a Wednesday. Here’s hoping that the extra weekday enabled them to start making calls today. Last year they announced it on their blog, and I would anticipate the same this year, since they have been so efficient.

Well, it is May 5th and there is no call as of yet! Anyone heard anything? What kind of stats do you need to get off the waitlist anyway…?

I realllllly realllllly realllllly wanna go to Vandy, as everyone here!

GOOD LUCK ALL!

D just got a call with an offer!

Congrats Lenny! What program will your D be attending?

Congrats on the call for your daughter. What school?

i got a call for arts & sciences today!

D’s offer is from Peabody. She is very confused now because, although she loves Vanderbilt, she was already committed to another school, had picked a roommate, scoped out the sororities, and all that. How will she ever figure it out in a couple of days???

congrats everyone!

I assume they’re done calling then?

That’s my bet. Do they do all the schools in one day you reckon?

I’m pretty sure many schools do multiple sets of calls; they don’t know for sure what students that are offered a place from the waitlist will accept it. Sometimes the schools give a week for students to decide, but just today I heard that someone got off the WUSTL waitlist and was given a day to decide.

Ya, I was thinking more in terms of the colleges within Vanderbilt, CAS, Peabody, Engineering, and Blair. It would make sense to me if they just did all the schools in the first wave on the same day.

So the first wave usually lasts only one day? I guess we’ll find out if people continue to get calls tomorrow… I hope they have a lot of room this year…
Congrats to everyone who got in!

The blog says it will go on for the next couple of weeks, but I don’t know if it means the first round, or overall.

My D has to decide by 5:00 Friday!

@ coll3ges: One note you may have missed in blog reads “Students offered admission from the waitlist have seven days to pay their matriculation fee if they wish to attend. After we receive all deposits we will once again evaluate institutional needs and may continue with another round of waitlist offers.”

So I’m guessing there is certainly the possibility of it extending past “a couple weeks” overall…try not to sweat it.

Also, @lenny: surely not THIS Friday right? The blog says a week for deciding but I just wanna double-check since that’d suck.

yeah Vandy is 7 days and they usually do rounds that sometimes last until even july. Last year they took just over 300 off the waitlist, but who knows this year.

oh okay, thanks guys… goodluckk to you all (: i’m going to be hoping for that call for the next couple of weeks hahha
