I was offered a spot off the wait list last week, and I was given until today to make my decision. The financial aid wasn’t what I hoped it would be, so I decided not to take the offer. There is still some hope, Good Luck! I’m sure everyone of you deserves it.

Anyone have any news that would suggest (or confirm) a second round to offers off the wait list have begun?

Vandy official blog indicates an admissions counselor informed an inquiring WL-ed applicant that a second wave would come appx 5/23, but that was not a firm date. Good luck to all.

I’ve tried e-mailing my counselor, but she hasn’t replied for 2 weeks. I’m from SoCal… did any of you try e-mailing your counselors recently?

Ok, it’s the 23rd. Anyone get any news?

Not me, most other schools send out the second round in June… I’m not sure about Vandy though

Coll3ges: Vandy’s “wait list” blog from 2010 says they started 2nd round May 14th last year.

I just received an email from Vandy asking me to let them know whether I was still interested in the waitlist or not. Does this mean that they are getting ready to announce the second wave this week?

Just posted on the Vandy blog:

“Just spoke to an admissions counselor and was told that all waitlisted students are on hold right now as the freshmen class is “tight” and they are not sure they will be making a second wave of offers. Disappointing news, but still better than not hearing anything.”

As others have said, this is a strange year.

From recent reports, is it fair to assume the gig is up at Vandy, and only a nominal amount if WL candidates (if at all) are going to be taken from the WL?

Our son received an updated email from Vandy yesterday asking him to indicate if he was still interested in staying on the waitlist or not. There was no mention of a second wave of offers or the status of their class size for this year. I am betting that there will be an updated post on their Admissions Blog sometime later this week or early next week.

Has anyone heard anything since the email from last week?

I haven’t heard anything, I don’t really know what to expect anymore but I really hope they give us an update soon, it is making me anxious just waiting without any official word about the future.

Hey guys,
I’m in the same boat as all of you – wait listed and not called in the first wave. I haven’t heard anything about the second wave yet, but when I talked to my admissions couselor she said that what they have left to fill is pretty small (she said as little as 5 or as many as 30). This obviously stinks. Has anyone heard anything?

bummer do you know around what time they would be sending the second wave? i heard rumors that it may be this week, but then again, it is just rumors…

I emailed my counselor this past week, and she said that IF there is a second wave it will be sometime this month. No other information, though.

So, I wish you all the best of luck and (if it doesn’t happen for us) that you enjoy your other schools!!

It doesn’t look too promising at this point. I received this in an email earlier today:

"Once again, we write to update you about the status of our Wait List for the Class of 2015. While we intend to close the Wait List within two weeks, we would like to know whether or not you remain interested in attending Vanderbilt in the unlikely event that we have space available in the class. To keep us informed of your intentions, please submit the Wait List Response Update 3 form by June 27, 2011 even if you have submitted wait list response forms throughout the spring.

As always, please contact our office with any questions. Again, thank you for your continuing interest in Vanderbilt."

Best of luck to everyone!

Previous posts suggest the Vandy Waitlist for the 2015 Class is coming to the end of the road. Anyone have any news regarding the status of the Waitlist, and if students have been plucked from the Waitlist the past few weeks?

Our son received an email this afternoon indicating the class of 2015 is full and no further waitlisted students will be admitted. He will happily remain a Georgetown Hoya this fall.

My son received the same email advising the Class of 2015 is full. He will happily remain a GW Colonial. Best of luck !! Upward and onward…
