Ooh, that kinda sucks. The visa thing really depends on your luck, though, so if you do get accepted to Cornell and apply for a US visa, it’ll reach you within a few days if you’re lucky. If you’re not, well…

But you’re probably right; applying for a Canadian visa right now is probably the best way forward for you. Good luck!

Has anyone heard anything else recently? Either acceptance or denial. I was accepted off the waitlist at Columbia and Harvard just denied me after originally being waitlisted. I am going forward with Columbia and I think I will stay put, but I just want to get some closure on the whole process. I’m waitlisted at CALS, specifically AEM.

Judging by the response in various threads, only the engineering waitlist has been tapped into. Perhaps we might be contacted later on, but I wouldn’t count on it.

I have a question. As an Indian student, I wrote a couple of entrance exams in India (you get accepted into college based on your rank in the exam. The rank depends on marks obtained). Suppose I get a fairly good rank in the exams, should I write to Cornell about it as an update? Or would it be like saying, “I’ve gotten accepted in such and such other universities”, which you should definitely not write?

By the way, do you guys know if we’ll get rejection letters if we don’t get through? I know Brown sent them out in mid-May… is Cornell going to send them as well?

If anybody is still wondering, I called CALS admissions today and was told that they weren’t entering the waitlist this year. They said even international students would be notified of this by mail. I know IntellectualUser said the same, but I had to confirm for myself.

I got the transfer option too! I’m wondering if everyone gets this? And, I wonder what the likelihood of acceptance is, assuming one meets the requirements.

I have created thread for transfer option students. See below and update your stats in that link. We should here in June again from Cornell about the procedure.
