Waitlist

I’m from India, but I’m an NRI.

Ooh, that kinda sucks. The visa thing really depends on your luck, though, so if you do get accepted to Cornell and apply for a US visa, it’ll reach you within a few days if you’re lucky. If you’re not, well…

But you’re probably right; applying for a Canadian visa right now is probably the best way forward for you. Good luck!

Has anyone heard anything else recently? Either acceptance or denial. I was accepted off the waitlist at Columbia and Harvard just denied me after originally being waitlisted. I am going forward with Columbia and I think I will stay put, but I just want to get some closure on the whole process. I’m waitlisted at CALS, specifically AEM.

Judging by the response in various threads, only the engineering waitlist has been tapped into. Perhaps we might be contacted later on, but I wouldn’t count on it.

I have a question. As an Indian student, I wrote a couple of entrance exams in India (you get accepted into college based on your rank in the exam. The rank depends on marks obtained). Suppose I get a fairly good rank in the exams, should I write to Cornell about it as an update? Or would it be like saying, “I’ve gotten accepted in such and such other universities”, which you should definitely not write?

It should be just about average if I am correct!

^What?

By the way, do you guys know if we’ll get rejection letters if we don’t get through? I know Brown sent them out in mid-May… is Cornell going to send them as well?

just rejected by AEM after being on the waitlist

@FoEverhard, how did they notify you? Email? Phone Call?

I doubt they would have called, but I’m interested to know how they let you know, too.

I got a letter in the mail telling me the CALS class was full.

Oh, well, that’s a bummer. Can’t say I wasn’t expecting it, but I was hoping at least for an email that would tell me of my rejection…

If anybody is still wondering, I called CALS admissions today and was told that they weren’t entering the waitlist this year. They said even international students would be notified of this by mail. I know IntellectualUser said the same, but I had to confirm for myself.

UIUC, here I come!

I got offered a transfer option for CALS today. Did anyone get off?

I also received a transfer option for CALS today by email. I’ve never heard of Cornell doing this; does anyone have any more info?

I got the transfer option too! I’m wondering if everyone gets this? And, I wonder what the likelihood of acceptance is, assuming one meets the requirements.

I have created thread for transfer option students. See below and update your stats in that link. We should here in June again from Cornell about the procedure.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1490289-fall-2014-cornell-garanteed-conditional-transfers.html

They just told me that I had the option of transferring if I was still interested. It wasn’t a guaranteed transfer or anything.

What did all of your emails say? I’m beginning to suspect it was simply a standard email for everybody.

Anyone from Arts and Sciences get anything yet?

I just got off the waitlist for the class of 2017 fall term for CAS. so dont give up guys

any news on human ecology?

Engineering applicant accepted off the waitlist June 6th (enrolled tonight). Maybe this will help someone next year!
