Congrats to my fellow waitlisted acceptees. I hope to see you on campus next year.

ahh, if only they accepted anyone from the waitlist last year :P

that would make my life so much easier right now! (deciding between taking my GT or staying at UMich)

i was waitlisted at human ecology

You realize this thread is from 2007...

so it looks like the # of people taken off the waitlist varies greatly, but for the most part is a very low percentage (1-4%, 8 being the highest in 2004?) I wonder (and pray) that in these tough economic times, whether or not Cornell will accept more from the waitlist.

Cornell University Wait List Stats

(** It looks like they forgot to clear the Wait List fields on the 2001 Common Data Set form, because it is highly unlikely that the numbers would be exactly the same as 2000. But that's what they posted on the web site.)

hmm my friend last year was waitlisted, didnt visit, didnt update her application

she got taken off the week before she left to her backup school… (didnt attend)

Oh my gosh… 1999… 3 people were taken off the waitlist.

Does anyone know when Cornell generally notifies their waitlisted students of their status?
Cause I got waitlisted but I haven’t heard anything and I was wondering if there’s still hope, cause it’s just about mid-May :/

I’d like to know to, do they atleast send us a rejection or do we wait indefinetly?

rich73cas didn’t add the CDS for fall 2009, but it shows that 0 students were admitted from the wait list.

Anyone heard back yet?

I haven’t heard anything yet.

Oh dear, zero is really an ugly number, eh?
I suppose our chances of getting off the waiting list is just ridiculously low. I haven’t heard back yet either.

I was accepted off the wait-list for Cornell this year. I got my acceptance letter April 15. I may be in a different category since I’ll be going to grad school. I’m not sure if I can give any help because everyone has a different background… I would only recommend that it can’t hurt to be gently aggressive in expressing your genuine interest in going to school at Cornell. Why Cornell and why are you different from other applicants? Do this without comparing yourself with others. For example, academically I did relatively poorly. My GRE scores were terrible and my undergrad GPA wasn’t very good. In both my application and follow up letters I stressed my previous work and volunteer experiences. When I was wait-listed I did a little research into Cornell student acceptance policies and what kind of student they’re looking for. With this information I discussed my potential as a graduate student and tied my skills and experiences in with what Cornell is really looking for. I wish you all the best of luck. If you’re really committed to going to Cornell I’ve been told that second time applicants are given more attention. However, I understand this may not work for those that are interested in going to college right after high school.

Just got my rejection letter today. No spaces in AEM, apparently. :/

Any one hear from Cornell class of 2018 waitlist?

Nope… do you think they’ll use it this year?
