How early do people start hearing back from waitlists nowadays? Like is tomorrow a possibility?
At many schools, yes, it’ll start tomorrow. But it can go on for weeks, so don’t get too obsessed about it.
There were some threads saying some have begun to move already - Lehigh, Washington & Lee, Duke. But sometimes there will be a first round of wl offers and then some later on, as the ripple effect takes hold.
@wisteria100 I saw that! Do u think for Duke/W&L/other schools like NU, they only accepted a few people off the waitlist or a lot? I mean usually these schools only accept like around 20 kids off the waitlist, so if they accepted all of those by today, then I shouldn’t even think abt it.
It all depends on the school and how many kids will enroll. If you’re curious, google your school’s name and common data set. It will tell you how many people accepted a WL spot and how many of those enrolled. Typically they go in waves throughout the summer. I had a friend who went to Wake Forest last year, and he heard during the middle of July. You just never know!
UC Santa Cruz started last week.
It is really best to put your focus on the school you deposited at.
@happy1, agree given waitlist acceptance rates for top schools is likely to be 0-3% - look at it like a lottery ticket and feel good about where you are at.
