how bad is it to get waitlisted @ wharton…what are your chances of getting in as a strong waitlist/ weak waitlist?

bumpty bumpty bump....

someone anwser this please....

what about waitlisted at the College? hope it doesn't happen to me, but just wondering

I would assume with the low yield rates of Penn because all the other Ivies steal their acceptees, that Penn would at least rely on the waitlist more than a HYPSM. Then again, Penn is still very prestigious so thats why the at least -- Wharton is a different story, I see Wharton as just as competitive as a HYPSM if not more because people are clearly only interested in business and there is no other school that can compare. I'd say it doesnt play much of a role at Wharton, but it may play a role at the College/Engineering/whatever.

I thought Penn had a 60% yield...is that low? I mean, Yale has like 67% and Harvard 80%

Waitlisted at Wharton? Yea...wharton barely takes anyone off the waitlist...People who get into Wharton go to wharton.

wharton is so awesome that it's unusual, more so than the college, I mean it's the top undergrad business school.

being waitlisted in the college is real easy to get off of. just send them a letter saying penn is your first choice and why it is better than all the other schools you got into. ive read multiple articles in the DP where dean stetson says that interest is #1 in getting kids off of the waitlist. i think the lack thereof is what gets kids on there in the first place. i know a bunch of kids in my freshman class who did this and got in (if not a letter, a visit to the admissions office, etc.)

thats good news
